Westfalia Landtechnik GmbH celebrated its 75th anniversary this year. It is befitting that the dairy farm systems supplier was again voted company with the best image in the business in 2001. For the fifth consecutive year, Westfalia Landtechnik came first in the annual autumn image survey of the German Agricultural Society (DLG). As in 2000, independent farmers awarded 91 of a maximum of 100 points. The immediate competitor lost ground and slip-ped from second to fourth place. The lead over the next milking system supplier in the animal production technology segment increased from nine to thirteen im-age points. The award is Westfalia Landtechnik’s second important vote of confi-dence in 2001. In spring, the corporation was already included in the list of the 100 most innovative companies in Germany.
Norbert Leveling , Westfalia Landtechnik Deutschland GmbH’s Managing Direc-tor: “We must thank our customers for this expression of trust placed in us. At the same time, though, we are grateful to our marketing and customer service associates and their permanent effort to provide our clients with the best advice and the best support around the clock.”
The number of image points scored by Westfalia Landtechnik has risen continu-ously since 1996 (78 points): The 2001 survey among 620 independent DLG panel farmers addressed the Internet sites of farm suppliers for the first time. Westfalia Landtechnik which revised its site only recently came first in this category, too.
In the image survey of the German Agricultural Society, professional farmers rate companies operating in the segments of agricultural engineering, animal production and services such as insurance and banking. The questionnaire does not offer any company names, but asks respondents to list a maximum of five organizations considered to be, for example, “particularly good” or “particu-larly innovative”. Evaluation criteria include reliability, customer service, tech-nology and the cost/benefit ratio.
The Westfalia Landtechnik Group which employs some 1,600 persons and re-ports annual sales of 330 million Euro€ is one of the world’s two leading manufacturers of milking systems, milk coolers, and dairy supplies (plant and animal hygiene products, spares, accessories and services). Westfalia Land-technik is a company of the GEA Group, Bochum, Germany, who is a division of mg technologies ag in Frankfurt/Main, Germany.
