Guido Beyß (38) will be taking over as the new commercial general manager of WestfaliaSurge GmbH, Oelde on the 1st December 2003. The business studies graduate joins us from GEA AG, Bochum, where he worked as a senior consultant in the national inhouse consultancy division. Prior to this, he gained specialist and managerial experience in the finance and controlling sectors in international environments with such renowned companies such as the Gillette Group. During the last few months he was able to gain extensive knowledge about WestfaliaSurge, its organisation, products and the market environment in his position as the in-house consultant from GEA AG.

Guido Beyß and the WestfaliaSurge team look forward to the joint challenges: “WestfaliaSurge is a very powerful international agricultural machinery organisation and for me this means that the new task is to create further expansion of both the market and enhance our customer orientated co-operation projects. As a result of globalisation we will have to set ourselves constantly changing targets and we will continue to use various controlling and financial aspects to support our efforts.”

Guido Beyß succeeds Ulrich Timcke (42) who, since 1994, has overseen the build-up of the worldwide controlling and financing operations so that the company now counts as one of the two largest manufacturers of dairy farm equipment, and has been the company’s commercial general manager since 1997. He was responsible for the commercial integration of the new acquisitions, i.e. Hugonnet, the largest manufacturer of milk cooling technology in the world and Surge, the world’s third largest manufacturer of dairy farm equipment into the WestfaliaSurge Group.

After his success at WestfaliaSurge, Ulrich Timcke is now moving on to an important general management position at the Claas Group – one of the world’s largest manufacturers of harvesting machines.

WestfaliaSurge, with around 1,600 employees throughout the world, generated sales of 348 million euro in the 2001/2002 financial year. WestfaliaSurge belongs to GEA AG, Bochum, which is a member of mg technologies ag, Frankfurt.
