WestfaliaSurge – winner once again in the DLG image survey

Best image – as voted by German farmers since 1997
19/11/04

Once again, WestfaliaSurge has been nominated as the German agricultural technology company with the best image. In the annual DLG image survey Germany’s professional farmers voted the second largest dairy farm systems supplier in the world into first place for the eighth time in succession. WestfaliaSurge won 91 of a possible 100 points to take the top position in the animal husbandry technology section.

The company puts its success down to the consistent customer orientation of their products and services. For instance, the new generation of AutoRotor rotary parlors were given their European premiere last Spring and when they were presented at ZLF in Munich this fall.

Norbert Leveling, general manager at WestfaliaSurge Deutschland GmbH said: “We share this success with the teams of our dealers. Our strength is that we work very closely with these experts in order to meet the requirements of the dairy farmers and to be able to provide appropriate specific advice and administration.” This gives WestfaliaSurge important competitive advantages, which are enhanced by the specialised ProMilk and ProFormance services and product offers.

The DLG image survey evaluated professional agricultural companies operating in the agricultural technology and livestock farming as well as insurance and banking services. No company names were given, but the farmers were asked to name a maximum of five companies that they considered “especially good” or “especially innovative”.

The classification was based on the evaluation of criteria such as reliability, service, customer service, advanced technology and price/performance ratios. Also included in the evaluation were the advertising and the quality of the Internet presence. The WestfaliaSurge Internet presence was also awarded another top rating of very good.

WestfaliaSurge, with approximately 1,550 employees throughout the world, recorded sales of around 300 million euros in 2003. WestfaliaSurge belongs to GEA AG, Bochum, which is a subgroup of mg technologies ag, Frankfurt.
