WestfaliaSurge: Positive results after six months at new site

• Successful start for new head office • Quality management certificate first time round
26/07/05

Six months after relocating to its new company headquarters in Bönen, WestfaliaSurge, one of the two largest milking technology manufacturers worldwide, is highly satisfied with the move. Thanks to the new modern manufacturing and logistics facilities and workflows, their competitiveness and productivity has been significantly increased. The move and the start-up phase for logistics and production went smoothly and without a hitch. Since the beginning of this year, WestfaliaSurge has been in an ideal position to expand the quality of their service and enhance customer orientation.

At its former sites WestfaliaSurge ran an extensive quality and environment management system, which has been certified annually ever since 1998. This meant that the company has set itself absolute customer orientation as the main goal. At the beginning of July this year, WestfaliaSurge was successful in demonstrating to the TÜV Rheinland Group, the certification body, that it was able to transfer this know-how successfully to its new location. The first audit at the new site in accordance with the ISO 9001:2000 standard (quality management) and the ISO 14001:2004 standard (environmental management) was passed with flying colours and ended with WestfaliaSurge being awarded the much coveted QS certificate. The audit report on quality and environment management highlighted in particular the improvement on the previous site at Herdecke.
