Have you considered installing VoD (Vacuum on Demand)?

Save money and "hear a pin drop" when you're milking!
05/11/07

The recently-introduced VoD (Vacuum on Demand) EnergySaver has been shown to lower energy costs by up to 80% by only generating as much vacuum as needed. Thanks to its fast microprocessor controls, the system quickly reacts to changing vacuum demand and regulates the speed of the vacuum pump. Unnecessary and wasteful costs can be avoided, as well as reducing noise and wear and tear on the vacuum pump.

One of the first farms to install the system in the UK was that of Giles and Leo Rowland, who milk 300 cows in Denbigh, North Wales. "I am very pleased with it," Giles enthused. "We must be saving money on lots of electricity each time we use it, but I think that the noise reduction is another one of its biggest selling points. The vacuum is very stable and the plant test report shows extremely consistent readings."
